IMOLA, ITALY – Redbull’s Max Verstappen takes home his second victory of the 2025 season at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix ahead of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.
Formula 3
Imola marked the third round of the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Championship with 30 drivers taking to the track last weekend. Driver standings leader, Rafael Câmara, qualified on pole again, placing him in P12 for the reverse grid Sprint Race and Bruno Del Pino, Tim Tramnitz and Mari Boya in the starting positions respectively. A strong overtake from Tramnitz put the MP Motorsport driver in pole from Lap 3 before multiple safety car periods brought together the front of the pack and kept the top six drivers within just a few tenths of each other throughout the entire race. Tramnitz maintained and took home the Sprint Race victory, followed by MP Teammate Bruno del Pino and Campos Racing’s Nicola Tsolov.
The F3 Feature race was won by Van Amersfoort Racing driver Santiago Ramos, who battled it out against championship leader Rafael Câmara of TRIDENT in the opening laps to claim his first ever F3 victory. TRIDENT’s Noah Stromsted finished in P2, followed by teammate Câmara in P3.
Formula 2
Formula 2 also met for the third time this season at the Autodrome Enzo e Dino Ferrari. Saturday’s Sprint Race saw Jak Crawford drive to the win from his P2 starting position taking home a maiden F2 victory for the DAMS Lucas Oil driver. He was joined on the podium by Campos Racing’s Arvid Lindblad and Hitech’s Luke Browning.
The Feature Race on Sunday saw Alex Dunne secure an impressive second championship victory after starting in P5. The McLaren Development Driver made some swift passes in the early part of the race, moving himself into P1 initially by Lap 9 of the race. The early pitstop handed pole onto AIX Racing’s Joshua Duerksen who held the lead behind a short safety car until he was overtaken by Dunne using DRS on Lap 27. Dunne prevailed until the end, crossing the finish line in P1, followed by Luke Browning and Dino Berganovic.
Formula 2 and Formula 3 will race again in the coming weekend at the Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlo.
Formula 1
Max Verstappen clenched his second victory of the season after a strong drive at the Autodrome Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy last weekend. Surging past polesitter Piastri in the first lap allowed the defending World Champion to build out a lead, strategically using the Safety Car when Esteban Ocon landed on the grass in the Haas.
Another safety car, due to Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli experiencing an issue with the car, led both Verstappen and Norris to pit-stop but while Piastri did not, resulting in Norris overtaking Piastri for P2 after the restart. The race finished with Verstappen in P1, and a McLaren 1-2 in Norris and Piastri to round off the podium. Lewis Hamilton took P4 in the Ferrari at their home race, while Alex Albon took P5, Charles Leclerc P6, George Russell P7, Carlon Sainz P8, Isack Hadjar P9 and Yuki Tsunoda P10.
Part two of the triple-header takes the FIA Formula One Drivers to Monte Carlo for the Monaco Grand Prix next week.
