SAKHIR, BAHRAIN – The Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix marked Oscar Piastri’s second win of the season, finishing ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell in P2 and McLaren teammate Lando Norris in P3. Formula 3
Tsolov was able to overtake and hold off AIX Racing driver Freddie Slater who placed second, and ART Grand Prix driver Tukka Taponen in third. In the aftermath, Tsolov recreated the iconic ‘Baby’ Fernando Alonso bird celebration to commemorate his sprint race win.
In the Feature Race, championship leader Rafael Camara converted his pole position to a second Formula 3 victory, holding off Rodin Motorsport driver Callum Voisin who settled for second. Voisin briefly led the race but ultimately fell short of the Ferrari Academy Driver. MP Motorsport driver Tim Tramnitz rounded off the podium after climbing from 13th place with aggressive and bold moves across the circuit.
Round 3 of the championship will take place next month from 16th-18th of May in Imola, Italy.
Formula 2
In the frenetic Formula 2 Sprint Race, Campos Racing driver Pepe Marti took the victory after starting from P11 on the grid. Marti claimed the race lead on the final lap and finished 0.922 seconds clear of MP Motorsport’s Richard Verschoor. AIX Racing’s Joshua Duerksen settled for third after originally leading the Sprint; however, he was later disqualified due to a breach of regulations with the diffuser strake. This promoted Hitech’s Dino Beganovic to third place, inheriting a podium finish.
The Feature Race also provided much entertainment, with Rodin Motorsport’s Alexander Dunne claiming his maiden Formula 2 victory with a dominant performance. Williams Junior Driver Luke Browning made the alternative strategy work to earn second for Hitech TGR ahead of Leonardo Fornaroli, the Invicta Racing driver rounding out the podium in third.
Round 3 of the championship will join Formula 1 at The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix this weekend.
Formula 1

George Russell achieved his best result of the season, finishing second for Mercedes despite battling multiple technical issues, including DRS malfunctions and brake-by-wire problems. Lando Norris completed the podium in third place, maintaining his lead in the championship standings.
The race was not without incident. A collision between Yuki Tsunoda and Carlos Sainz brought out the safety car, leading to Sainz’s retirement due to significant damage. Additionally, Nico Hülkenberg was disqualified post-race after his car failed a technical inspection for excessive plank wear.
This upcoming weekend is the final race of the triple header, taking place at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit for The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
